Guilherme da Silva – BOOOOOOOM! – CREATE * INSPIRE * COMMUNITY * ART * DESIGN * MUSIC * FILM * PHOTO * PROJECTS

A collection of photographs from a new zine by Sao Paulo-primarily based photographer Guilherme da Silva (formerly showcased right here). Although da Silva initially bought the strategy for the project adhering to a breakup and impromptu picture session with a pal in 2019, he did not start out operating on it once more until December 2020 owing to the pandemic. When I commenced performing industrial work opportunities I had to adapt myself and I experienced to deal with some LGBTQ-phobic attitudes that finished up in melancholy. But it wasn’t just the homophobia, I had to offer with criticism toward my strategy, my gentle and also the styles I wanted to photograph. At the time I listened to from a really well-known publication that the types I desired ended up ‘too gay’ for the magazine.”

Overture is da Silva’s reaction to the therapy he’s confronted. Now turning to self-publishing, the zine’s title is a reference to the opening of an opera.
